Position Summary

At Brownstone Learning Academy, we seek dedicated Preschool Teachers who are enthusiastic about fostering educational growth and nurturing young minds. Our educators play a pivotal role in creating a stimulating atmosphere that promotes both collective and individual learning experiences. Each teacher will be instrumental in executing the early childhood curriculum and assessment strategies, engaging families in the educational journey, and cultivating a classroom environment that reflects the diverse cultures of our students.


Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with children to facilitate their development and learning in a safe and supportive setting.
  • Promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth through age-appropriate activities, manipulatives, and language experiences.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that align with child development outcomes and classroom routines.
  • Encourage self-help skills and personal development among children.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including daily attendance and meal participation records.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families through approved channels.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding program, staff, and family information.
  • Observe, assess, and document each child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development.
  • Manage classroom organization, cleanliness, and overall maintenance.
  • Adhere to all state licensing regulations related to health, safety, and professional standards.

Qualifications
  • Completion of the State mandated 45-hour DCF Childcare Facility Training.
  • Possession of a current Child Development Associate credential or Staff Credential.
  • If lacking a CDA credential, at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or related fields, with the ability to obtain a CDA within two years for Assistant Teacher roles.
  • Experience with Early Childhood Education standards and ethical guidelines, preferably NAEYC standards.
  • Understanding and experience working with low-income families is preferred.
  • Physical ability to engage with children, including lifting and moving items up to 40 pounds.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with technology, including MS Office Suite, or willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Brownstone Learning Academy, demonstrating integrity as a role model for students.
  • U.S. work authorization and successful completion of background checks are required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Fire Extinguisher Certification.
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields (Bachelor's degree preferred).
