Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Tech to join our team at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden. As a Patient Care Tech, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the activities of daily living for patients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by RN/LPN, such as vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care specific to population served and documents appropriately.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient's status to RN/LPN and respond appropriately.
  • Reinforce education of patient and family/responsible party regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
  • Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
  • Participate in the performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in orientation of new hires.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required.
  • Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.
  • BLS certification.
  • Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.
