At Minnetonka Schools Community Education, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with special needs in their academic and social growth. The successful candidate will work closely with Program Supervisors to plan and implement engaging programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

In this role, you will provide personalized support to students with additional needs during extracurricular and educational activities, fostering their social and academic growth. You will also develop and implement creative strategies to promote inclusive play and accommodate diverse needs within group activities.

You will collaborate with supervisors and district staff to ensure the safety and success of all children, establishing positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, building staff, and school district staff.

Responsibilities
  • Support Student Growth: Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Develop Inclusive Programs: Collaborate with Program Supervisors to create engaging programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students, promoting social and academic growth.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Work with supervisors and district staff to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of all children, adhering to strict safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Experience Working with Children with Special Needs: Proven experience in supporting children with special needs, either in a classroom or after-school setting.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to Take Direction: Willingness to take direction from Program Supervisors and work effectively as part of a team.
