Psychiatrist - Correctional Health Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at PAGNY, providing exceptional psychiatric care to individuals incarcerated in the New York City jail system.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, team-based psychiatric care, including psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic interventions.
- Conduct admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent and emergent consultations.
- Consult with non-prescribing mental health staff and medical staff on diagnosis, treatment, and medication.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the creation of individual treatment plans.
- Evaluate patients for hospitalization and maintain continuity of care.
- Document all activities in the electronic medical record.
- Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Doctor of Medicine degree.
- New York State license to practice Medicine, in good standing.
- Completion of a 4-yr. US accredited psychiatric residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the ABPN.
- At least 2 years' experience taking care of individuals with serious mental illness in an institutional setting.
