Role Overview: Under the supervision of healthcare providers (MD, DO, DPM, NP, or PA) or RNs, the LVN/LPN will deliver clinical support and nursing care to patients in accordance with established nursing standards and procedures sanctioned by the relevant state nursing board. The LVN/LPN will actively participate in the healthcare team, assessing patient needs, contributing to care plans, and executing prescribed interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute nursing duties within the scope of a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse, including procedures, injections, medication administration, EKGs, and phlebotomy as per state regulations.
  • Engage in the implementation of educational plans for patients and their families addressing common health issues and defined learning needs.
  • Coordinate patient care as instructed by healthcare providers and RNs, encompassing referrals, transitions, medications, procedures, and follow-ups.
  • Document patient complaints and prepare patients for examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collect and relay patient information regarding symptoms and complaints to the provider.
  • Conduct focused nursing assessments, evaluate patient responses to treatments, and communicate findings to the healthcare provider.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments and care in medical documentation.
  • Review patient records and relevant information prior to provider consultations, reporting pertinent details to the provider or RN.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and treat all patients with respect.
  • Organize and maintain examination and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Adhere to standard infection control practices.
  • Manage medication protocols according to policies, accurately documenting medications and immunizations in patient records.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • IV certification as required by the clinic.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Experience in performing medical procedures, administering injections, and conducting phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with providers, staff, patients, and the community.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proper grammar and spelling.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Compliance with Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunity to specific diseases.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV certification.
  • Two or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to operate a company vehicle safely.
