Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer

EDI Staffing, an EDI Specialists Company, is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Network Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned network engineer to design, implement, and maintain our company's LANs, WANs, Telecommunications, VOIP, Security, and wireless networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, design, and implementation, as well as experience with network security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network architectures to meet business objectives and ensure smooth network operation.
  • Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and PBX equipment.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network uptime.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineering personnel to assess network capacity needs and implement upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including network maps, configuration files, and service records.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect corporate assets.
  • Interface with UNIX and Windows engineering personnel to achieve required connectivity and performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of networking experience.
  • Cisco or network certifications highly desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of cabling standards, TCP/IP, VLANS, and routing protocols, as well as troubleshooting techniques with network management software.
  • Demonstrated experience with successful LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation, as well as experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing vendors and service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of network equipment, including Cisco routers and switches, Firewalls, Site-to-Site VPN, and SSL remote access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Definity PBX and VOIP systems.
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and customer focus.
