Job Description

Schneider Electric is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team in Andover, MA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design of circuitry for power systems and supplies, including AC to DC, DC to DC, low power bias supplies, power converters, power factor correction, power feedback control, system control signals, and system communication signals using analog and digital components.

You will simulate circuits to demonstrate expected circuit performance, develop schematics for these circuits, and work with Mechanical Engineers to ensure the circuit design will accommodate the design envelope. Additionally, you will work with the System Architect to develop signals and methods of detection for circuits, and with Firmware Engineers to help test and develop embedded code used to operate the system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power electronics circuits and systems
  • Simulate and test circuit performance
  • Develop schematics and PCB layouts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets requirements
  • Perform system integration testing and troubleshoot complex circuit issues

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
  • Progressive experience in power electronics hardware electrical engineering design or related occupation
  • Experience in designing and testing complex power supply circuitry, troubleshooting complex electronic circuits, and designing control theory, power electronics, and analog and digital circuits
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Cadence, PADS) and simulation tools (PSpice, MathCad)
  • Strong understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical components (FET, IGBT, SiC, GaN, Diodes, transformers, inductors, and passive devices)
