Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering Operations Team at Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our data pipelines, transforming data, and creating dashboards for visualization.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for data analysis, effectively manage prioritization of complex tasks, and take ownership of solutions. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to define internal and external metrics & system requirements, and work with product and process owners to define and help architect key data sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create data models, reports & analyses to support business needs and convert raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports.
  • Translate team's needs into data solutions using data processing software & visualization tools such as Power BI and Power Apps.
  • Develop advanced data queries combining information from disparate sources.
  • Review, improve and optimize existing Power Query M queries, and Power BI reports/visualizations/metrics, while implementing best practices for data extraction, storage, and governance.
  • Work on the implementation of technology needed to facilitate the transfer of data and integrations with internal and third-party applications.
Requirements
  • Desire to develop applications and solutions to address business-critical data challenges.
  • Exposure to requirements analysis, design, and development process.
  • Experience working with reporting & analytics tools.
  • Experience in the architecture and development of scale-able production data analytics, reporting, and or enterprise data solutions.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills, and strong organizational & planning skills.
  • Experience with Power BI data visualization tool
  • Experience developing custom Power BI visuals highly desired
  • Working knowledge with databases, data queries (Power Query M, SQL, KQL, or similar), DAX, Python, and statistical packages (R, Minitab or similar).
  • Experience with Azure cloud data platform a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning and or artificial intelligence is a plus.
  • B.S or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field is preferred.
