We are seeking a highly skilled Global Macro Economist to join our research team at Pharo Management LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing in-depth economic analysis and research on Latin America markets.
Key Responsibilities- Macroeconomic Analysis: Provide rich macroeconomic context on economic, political, and structural trends in the countries of coverage to help shape the firm's top-down view for the region.
- Quantitative Tools: Use quantitative tools to forecast key economic variables, analyze the business cycle, and make calls on central banks' reaction functions. Understand the linkages between the countries of coverage and the global economy.
- Investment Process: Communicate with the team of portfolio managers and contribute to the investment process. Identify, articulate, and implement investment themes and actionable market calls.
- Global Investment Team: Participate in global investment team meetings. Give in-depth presentations on global macroeconomic themes and country analyses.
- Collaboration: Actively collaborate with colleagues locally and from other international offices.
- Background: Strong background in macroeconomics with at least 5 years' experience in the macroeconomic space covering Latin America markets at a top-tier investment bank, buy-side firm, or an international financial institution.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Quantitative Skills: Quantitatively inclined with good understanding of statistics and familiarity with statistical software.
- Learning Ability: Capacity to grasp and learn new topics and concepts.
- Work Ethic: Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base salary - $150,000/yr - $200,000/yr.
