Position Overview: The Electromechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep of all electrical and control systems within the plant and production areas. This role encompasses electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and network subsystems.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the efforts of Electro-Mechanics across shifts, providing assistance in troubleshooting and documenting root cause analyses of failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all electrical and control systems, including device hardware and software.
  • Assist Mechanics and other Electro-Mechanics in diagnosing and repairing electrical or controls-related issues.
  • Train and oversee the activities of Electro-Mechanics across all shifts as needed.
  • Occasionally work from offsite locations to aid in equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ensure production equipment is maintained while adhering to the production schedule, performing electrical and mechanical inspections safely during operation.
  • During scheduled downtime, execute corrective, preventive, or planned repairs in line with company and vendor specifications.
  • In case of equipment failure, collaborate with a mechanic to identify the issue, implement repairs, and restore equipment to production promptly.
  • Complete assigned tasks in compliance with government regulations, GMP, safety standards, quality control measures, and company procedures.
  • Primarily perform preventive, scheduled, or corrective maintenance on batching and continuous process control systems, including their networks, AC/DC and servo drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
  • Maintain secondary systems for steam, hot and chilled water, pneumatic air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control.
  • Document work records in accordance with work orders and job assignments.
  • Travel to various locations as necessary for parts procurement, training, or other responsibilities.
  • Work to enhance the quality, legality, and safety of products and processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting any potential contamination or suspicious activities to a Supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:

AS/AAS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred, or equivalent practical experience in a related field with a background in machine and electrical control system installation.

Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi software, as well as preventative maintenance software, is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems design documentation, including Process & Instrument Drawings (PID), electrical single line drawings, instrument loop drawings, and mechanical diagrams.

Working knowledge of control system projects, including machine layout, control drawings, P&ID, and system interconnection drawings.

Proficiency in basic and advanced mathematics, with the ability to convert units of measurement and interpret graphs and diagrams.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and handle standardized situations.

Ability to complete forms detailing maintenance work performed.
