Job Overview:
This role is within the Engineering & Facilities department (MT2).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated material handling systems, ensuring optimal equipment availability.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, swiftly addressing equipment malfunctions to maintain operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to troubleshoot issues, validate the quality of external contractors' work, and enhance equipment performance in partnership with facility leaders.
- Engage with Maintenance Technician 3s and Senior Systems Engineers to conduct Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures.
- Support the training of junior maintenance technicians to improve their technical expertise and job knowledge.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical components of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including conveyor systems, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS).
- Adjust and repair various components such as scanners, cameras, and motors.
- Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of equipment.
- Utilize job plans and manuals to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures.
- Follow safety protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate company vehicles for maintenance tasks and parts procurement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform regular bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 49 pounds.
- Frequent walking and climbing of ladders and gangways.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
- Proficient in using mobile applications and basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with electrical diagrams and measuring instruments.
Preferred Experience:
- Completion of a vocational program in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience or apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of automated conveyor systems and Material Handling Equipment safety standards.
