The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is excited to partner with a company in Sandusky, Ohio, now under brand new ownership, working to modernize their facility with the latest technology and automation. This is an incredible opportunity to join their team as a Jr. Electrician with a company at the forefront of the food industry innovation. This is a 1st Shift position (7a-3pm), needing the flexibility down the road to be able to be a mid shift and cover 1st and 2nd shift due to the growth of the operation as well as potential rotational on-call hours. Pay being offered up to $22/hr. based on experience.

Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Electrician to become an integral part of our maintenance team. This role is perfect for someone eager to grow their skills in electrical systems within a fast-evolving work environment. The Junior Electrician will work alongside seasoned professionals, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical systems, all while adhering to the highest safety standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support Electrical Installations: Help with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, lighting, and control panels in a commercial setting.
- Conduct Inspections: Perform regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs.
- Follow Schematics: Utilize blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to assist in the layout and installation of electrical systems.
- Tool Proficiency: Safely operate various hand and power tools necessary for completing electrical tasks.
- Assist Senior Electricians: Work closely with senior electricians to troubleshoot issues and implement effective repairs and improvements.
- Test Equipment Use: Operate electrical test instruments such as voltmeters, meggers, hi-pot testers, and ammeters for diagnostic purposes.
- Motor Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of single-phase and three-phase motors.
- Adhere to Codes : Ensure all work meets local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
- Maintain Work Area: Keep the work environment clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Ongoing Learning: Participate in training programs to enhance your technical knowledge and skills.
- Effective Communication: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Code Familiarity: Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
- Experience with PLCs: Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is a plus.
- Component Knowledge: Basic experience with electronic components like diodes, capacitors, IGBTs, and other semiconductors.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using common hand and power tools in electrical work.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Physical Condition: Must be physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Shift/Flexibility: Scheduled as 1st Shift position (7a-3pm). The right candidate will be flexible as the organizations grows and continues to evolve under new ownership with potentially doing a mid-shift (covering a part of 1st and 2nd shift) and also being able to do rotational on-call hours.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial electrical work (including internships or apprenticeship programs).
