Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various terminal machinery to manage cargo distribution according to operational guidelines. This role involves teamwork and effective communication with crew members and management to ensure seamless cargo handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of mobile and stationary equipment, including dozers and loaders, to facilitate coal and petroleum coke handling.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations while performing equipment operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and minor maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring adherence to operational plans.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the work environment as part of the fire safety program.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with prior experience in heavy machinery operation.
  • Minimum of one year of experience operating D6 Dozers; D10 experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to different shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must meet physical fitness standards, including the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Capability to perform tasks that involve walking, climbing, and navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including dusty and extreme temperatures.
