Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the high standards of The Joule's culinary program.
  • Lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Hotel Executive Chef to create and implement new menu concepts and promotions.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including the storage and handling of food and equipment.
  • Respond to guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of related progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, and liquor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
