Job Summary

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team at Lantern Community Services Inc. The successful candidate will provide assistance to residents in recovery to live as independently as possible within a supportive housing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with residents, encouraging increased service utilization and social connections.
  • Carry a small caseload, working with assigned clients to develop harm reduction strategies, coordinate client schedules, and empower them to increase wellness self-management.
  • Document all interactions in confidential records, providing accurate and timely information for program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement supportive housing services, promoting efficient communication and service coordination.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with Peer Certification from New York State or willingness to complete within six months of hire date.
  • Lived experience receiving services for mental health, substance use, and/or a chronic health condition, with a commitment to assist others in attaining recovery and wellness goals.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work in conjunction with a social services team.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. The estimated annual salary for this role is $43,550, based on an hourly rate of $20.87 and a 40-hour workweek.
