Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Habilitation Assistant to join our team at ADAPT Community Network. As a Habilitation Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Support: Assist in various program areas as assigned by the Program Director or designee, including implementing program plans and providing personal care to individuals receiving services.
  • Supervision and Transportation: Assist with supervision of individuals in assigned areas and transport them on community outings while maintaining close supervision.
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Perform clerical work for assigned areas, including collating, folding, typing, and answering telephones.
Requirements:
  • Valid New York State Driver's License: Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, individuals receiving services, and their families.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required; six months of related experience preferred but not required.
  • Medication Administration: Salaried employees must be approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) at time of hire or within six months of date of hire in salaried status.
