KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of desserts and snacks for residents.
- Support meal preparation alongside the culinary team.
- Deliver trays to residents throughout the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas post-meal service.
- Aid in the preparation of salads, desserts, and other dishes.
- Serve beverages to residents, including juice, milk, water, and tea.
- Prepare between-meal snacks (e.g., sandwiches).
- Clean work areas at the end of shifts and after meals, including sweeping and mopping.
- Dispose of kitchen waste and sanitize garbage containers.
- Adhere to infection control protocols in the kitchen.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans as required.
- Monitor and record freezer and refrigerator temperatures as per established guidelines.
- Check inventory levels as needed and restock supplies appropriately.
- Properly store cleaning supplies.
- Set up and serve from the tray line, following dietary orders.
- Offer menu alternatives and document them according to procedures.
- Ensure proper storage of leftovers and opened food items.
- Prepare coffee and tea as requested.
- Maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness, including carts, tables, and appliances.
- Operate kitchen machinery, including dishwashers and food processors.
- Follow standardized recipes for meal preparation.
- Utilize serving tools effectively.
- Check and record water temperatures for sanitation compliance.
- Ensure chemical levels are adequate and replace as necessary.
- Uphold the organization's reputation by demonstrating servant leadership and maintaining open communication.
- Participate in collaborative efforts and contribute to team projects.- Perform additional duties as required to support the organization's success.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues, residents, and visitors, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ability to address concerns with a helpful and caring attitude, responding professionally to inquiries.- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety protocols, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate in group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling measurements and calculations.
- Reasonable problem-solving abilities to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is required.
- Physical demands include regular walking, standing, and the ability to lift and handle kitchen equipment.
