About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our Frontend Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and provide an exceptional user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable frontend code using React, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in frontend development, and apply this knowledge to improve our web applications.
  • Work closely with the backend team to ensure seamless integration and data exchange between frontend and backend systems.
  • Contribute to the development of our frontend architecture, ensuring it is modular, flexible, and scalable.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • 3+ years of experience with Redux, Webpack, and npm.
  • Expertise in performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility principles and guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
