Job Summary

The Director of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Program will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum for the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Program at North Carolina Central University. This program aims to equip law students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving fields of data protection and cybersecurity law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Program.
  • Provide leadership in shaping the program's strategic direction, including identifying emerging trends and opportunities in data privacy and cybersecurity law.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments and institutions to enhance the program's impact and reach.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in data privacy and cybersecurity law courses.
  • Mentor and advise students interested in pursuing careers in data privacy and cybersecurity law.
  • Engage and build relationships with the broader legal community, including practitioners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, to promote awareness of data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Prior administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data privacy or cybersecurity law.
  • Prior teaching experience at the law school level, with a commitment to excellence in instruction and student mentorship.
  • One or more privacy or cybersecurity certifications.
