Oxfam America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Institutional Funding and Partnerships to lead our team in securing funding from U.S. foundations and cultivating meaningful donor relationships. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful fundraising from large US foundation donors and experience in managing, leading, and coaching a team.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Accounts Team (SAT) Management and People Management (40%):
- Manage the Strategic Accounts Team (SAT) and maintain an overview of all donor submissions and awards.
- Directly supervise a team of Development Officers and manage growth and performance of the team.
- Support proposal and report submission by SAT staff and provide quality assurance on funding proposals.
- Optimize relationships with Existing High-Value Donors (40%):
- Act as an external representative of Oxfam and participate in meetings, conferences, and events to acquire new donor relationships.
- Focus on sustaining and growing relationships with key foundation donors and develop strategy in consultation with Director.
- Manage relationships with assigned donors and develop three-year donor account plans for priority accounts.
- Collaborate closely with program and policy staff to cultivate and manage Oxfam's relationships with strategic donors.
- Collaborate with IFP Team, Affiliate, and Confederation to Maximize Performance (20%):
- Provide strategic direction to the IFP team and participate on the IFP Senior Leadership Team.
- Collaborate with IFP subteam leads to identify ways to maximize revenue and efficiency.
- Stay abreast on trends in US foundation giving and serve as a knowledge resource for staff.
- Advance degree in a field related to writing, communications, political science, or international development.
- Minimum 5+ years of related progressive experience with at least 5 years of successful fundraising from large US foundation donors.
- Demonstrated experience in managing, leading, and coaching a team, preferably in a union environment, and external partners.
- Experience in launching new teams, strategies, and portfolios.
- Superior writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in French or Spanish.
- Experience in an issue-oriented non-profit organization or in an international development organization.
