Job Summary

The Electrical Engineering co-op is responsible for developing and testing machinery and equipment under the direction of plant engineers and senior engineers. As a co-op student, you'll have pertinent work assignments and opportunities to work independently in our facility. We believe in the learning aspect of the work assignment and pair all of our co-op students with a coach/mentor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test machinery and equipment under the direction of plant engineers and senior engineers.
  • Review project instructions and blueprints to determine test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, and possible solutions.
  • Draft detail drawings or sketches for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet metal, electrical, or wood shops.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components or assemblies.
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions.
  • Analyze indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled student majoring in Electrical Engineering and having completed at least the freshman year.
  • Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
  • Good problem-solving skills from a troubleshooting and project planning standpoint.
