Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team at Stealth Recruiting Services. As an Electrical Controls Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel to develop and implement best practices to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Support various equipment controls and repair projects, including electro-mechanical troubleshooting, trials, and investigations of innovative technologies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies, automation philosophies, and advanced process control applications.
  • Participate in planning meetings with maintenance personnel to discuss project scopes, estimates, and technical support.
  • Review and provide solutions for chronic downtime issues.
  • Update and create electrical schematics.
  • Train maintenance personnel on electrical systems and processes.
  • Maintain backups of software and drawings.
  • Coordinate communications and efforts with internal and external resources to troubleshoot equipment and execute repairs, PMs, and upgrades.
  • Participate in capital project development, define project scopes, complete project estimates, and support design and construction.
  • Review projects for technical accuracy and clarity and deliver presentations to support project updates, justification, and explanation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven electrical troubleshooting skills to support multiple PLC and AC/DC drive platforms in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with process control project execution.
  • High level of understanding of and experience with process control systems, including DCS, safety instrumented systems, and process control networks.
  • Ability to effectively use structured approaches in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Capability of producing results in both a team and individual environment.
  • Exhibits a working knowledge of policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, data acquisition/historian programs, alarm management, and quality control lab systems.
  • Solid verbal and written communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to be periodically on-call and provide guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to dynamic situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years or more years of experience in engineering or process control systems working in a paper, chemical, refining, or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced understanding of an integrated paper mill process is a plus.
