Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate enriching classroom experiences by maintaining a safe and encouraging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Take charge or assist in managing the classroom effectively, setting clear objectives, planning and executing lesson plans aligned with the Seedlings curriculum, and guiding Support Educators to uphold the highest standards in childcare and education.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with parents to work together for the child's benefit, regularly updating them on their child's development, including formal conferences twice a year.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to parents by proactively addressing inquiries and concerns, ensuring prompt and effective assistance.
  • Observe and evaluate students to create and maintain individual profiles and portfolios, adapting teaching methods and materials to cater to diverse needs and interests.
  • Engage with children consistently during both small and large group activities.
  • Implement a strategy of positive reinforcement and behavior redirection in line with the company's discipline policy.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment while adhering to all safety protocols.

Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios as mandated by state regulations.

  • Oversee the planning, assignment, and direction of Support Educators' work, conducting performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and overall professional development guidance.
  • Conduct weekly mini-meetings with Support Educators and additional meetings as necessary.

Participate in mandatory training sessions and meetings, including off-site training as required.

  • Engage in marketing events and tours as needed; assist in the sales process by interacting with parents during classroom tours and following up afterward.
  • Adhere to standards set by the Association of Early Learning Leaders and the company's operational and educational audits.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements as per company and state guidelines.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Frequent use of hands and fingers is necessary, along with the ability to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary. The typical work environment is a classroom, with outdoor duties during recess, except in extreme weather conditions.
