Position Overview:
As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients. Your expertise will ensure the safety and comfort of individuals undergoing x-ray procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
- Acquiring precise x-ray images while utilizing appropriate positioning and radiation exposure techniques;
- Implementing safety protocols to protect patients, yourself, and fellow staff members from unnecessary radiation exposure;
- Creating and accurately documenting x-ray CD copies in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring proper labeling of images and sleeves;
- Comprehending the operation of x-ray and processing equipment to ensure correct usage;
- Utilizing the bell system effectively;
- Organizing and maintaining all x-ray documentation;
- Ensuring patient safety while using mobility aids such as wheelchairs and stools;
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Familiarity with the following is essential:
- Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen;
- Automated medical records systems;
- Maintaining cleanliness in the work area and performing biological cleanup in compliance with OSHA standards;
- Receiving, relocating, and restocking supplies as required;
- Adhering to established policies and procedures;
- Responding to requests from physicians and nursing staff with professionalism and promptness;
- Completing assigned tasks on checklists for both x-ray and treatment areas;
- Participating in training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled;
- Being available for patient care needs, including during breaks and mealtimes;
- Operating, utilizing, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained.
Qualifications:
Minimum educational and professional requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Proficiency in keyboarding;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Preferred: One year of clerical experience;
- Preferred: One year of clinical experience;
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);
- Licensed to practice as a Radiographer by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
