Key Responsibilities:

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, your primary duties will encompass responding to urgent crisis situations, providing intervention services for ongoing clients, managing cases, and coordinating care. You will also collaborate with first responders to ensure comprehensive support. Your role will require a strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced crisis environment.

Work Schedule:

This position involves a shift from Sunday to Wednesday, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Deliver direct community-based crisis counseling and follow-up services as assigned, catering to youth, adults, and families.
  • Coordinate communication with various departments to ensure continuity of care and develop effective working relationships with state and community behavioral health organizations.
  • Provide training and mentorship for interns and new staff as directed by the Program Coordinator or Department Manager.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality services, including clinical care and accurate documentation in line with agency policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and support team members, demonstrating professionalism and cooperation.
  • Handle potentially volatile situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Oversee the daily operation of department vehicles and report any incidents of damage or theft promptly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Suggest improvements to service delivery to the Program Coordinator or Manager.
  • Attend all scheduled department meetings and receive a minimum of 4 hours of supervision monthly.
  • Participate in agency fundraising activities as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in crisis services, outpatient services, or community outreach is preferred, especially in urgent psychiatric settings.
  • Flexibility to extend work hours as necessary to complete crisis-related tasks.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Fingerprint clearance card required or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.
