Role Overview:

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, your primary responsibilities will encompass responding to urgent crisis calls, executing crisis interventions for ongoing clients, managing cases, and coordinating care. You will also collaborate with first responders to ensure effective service delivery. This role demands an individual who thrives in fast-paced crisis environments.

Work Schedule:

This position requires availability for evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct community-based crisis counseling and follow-up services as assigned, catering to youth, adults, and families.
  • Ensure comprehensive service provision and maintain effective communication with various departments to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Provide training and mentorship for interns and new staff as directed by the Program Coordinator or Department Manager.
  • Uphold quality service delivery, including clinical care and meticulous documentation of all client records in line with agency policies.
  • Execute job duties safely and collaboratively, fostering a supportive team environment.
  • Manage potentially volatile situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Oversee the daily operation of department vehicles, reporting any incidents of damage or theft promptly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Suggest improvements to service delivery to the Program Coordinator or Manager.
  • Attend all scheduled department meetings and receive supervision as required.
  • Engage in agency fundraising initiatives as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a closely related field is required.
  • Prior experience in Crisis Services, Outpatient Services, or Community Outreach is preferred, especially in urgent psychiatric settings.
  • Flexibility to extend work hours as necessary to complete crisis-related tasks.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and work effectively within a team.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Fingerprint clearance card is required or must be eligible to obtain one.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

  • Ability to remain calm during crises, work independently, and demonstrate empathy towards individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain professional conduct in accordance with ethical standards and agency policies.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • If driving on agency business, a valid driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage are required.
