Position Overview:
The Head of Business Growth is responsible for steering and mentoring the Community Relations Manager and Sales team. This role involves coaching the sales personnel through field activities and structured training sessions. The Head of Business Growth will implement Performance Improvement Plans for under-performing sales representatives and will have the authority to make recommendations regarding hiring and termination when necessary. The primary goal of this position is to surpass growth targets by enhancing sales productivity, as indicated by admissions per Full-Time Community Relations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with essential community referral sources to guide sales strategies effectively.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard members of the sales team.
- Manage and execute all sales initiatives for Jet Health services within the designated region.
- Oversee sales strategies, assess market dynamics, and propose policy modifications to maximize referral activities.
- Provide training to Administrators on best practices in sales management to ensure sustained growth across various sites.
- Accountable for achieving referral and intake quotas set by senior management.
- Inspire community relation marketers to meet and exceed monthly performance targets.
- Develop annual marketing strategies in collaboration with senior management and hospice administrators to enhance patient engagement and strengthen relationships with referring physicians and other sources.
- Drive measurable improvements in payer mix.
Community Engagement:
Coordinate marketing and business development efforts within the region to foster positive recognition and consumer relations. Create and deliver presentations to healthcare professionals to secure contracts for General In-Patient and Nursing Home services.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of management experience in healthcare marketing, particularly in skilled nursing facilities, home care, or hospice settings.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on group presentations.
- Proven ability to evaluate and teach effective marketing and public presentation techniques.
- Demonstrated sales success in healthcare over multiple years, with at least five years of documented experience selling to physicians and discharge planners.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining client relationships, with knowledge of Medicare, managed care, and insurance reimbursement being advantageous.
- Proficient in computer usage, possess a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, current insurance, and a clean driving record.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate on and implement the marketing strategy: Support the sales team in identifying and cultivating referral sources.
- Meet and exceed established referral and admission targets.
- Act as a liaison between assigned programs and senior management to address obstacles hindering growth objectives.
- Oversee admissions processed both locally and through centralized intake.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
- Function autonomously, making decisions and solving problems as needed.
- Engage with key referral sources to understand their needs and maximize growth opportunities.
- Coach sales staff on delivering effective marketing presentations to educate clients about hospice services.
- Maintain a network within assigned communities.
- Facilitate mutual goal setting and achievement standards within the sales team.
- Participate in meetings, health fairs, and other community events. Demonstrate flexibility, persistence, and initiative to drive positive changes.
- Promote the hospice mission and vision within the community.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor towards hospice staff, referral sources, and the public.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
