Job Title: Mental Health Tech Shift Supervisor

Red River Youth Academy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Tech Shift Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Tech Shift Supervisor will provide supervision and security of clients, ensuring the quality of the environmental management system, and serving as a positive role model for the youth entrusted to our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and security of clients
  • Ensure the quality of the environmental management system
  • Provide a consistent and positive role model for the youth entrusted to our care
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment program
  • Provide direction and supervision to Mental Health Techs
  • Process high levels of initiative and be able to initiate and perform work requirements with minimal direction
  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
  • Excellent customer service skills; skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization
  • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
  • Skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills; use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients
  • Empathy towards patients; experience with patients is highly desired
  • Ability to conduct educational and treatment groups and to accurately document same
  • Ability to function in a crisis situation without over-reacting. Ability to control emotions at all times displaying sound mental and emotional demeanor
  • Adequate written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic
  • Must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass background check and drug test
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. BS degree preferred
  • 2 years clinical and supervisory experience in an inpatient setting preferred
