Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Specialties

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Medical Specialties Unit. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care-teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop outcomes-based plans of care for patients.
  • Implement and coordinate care plans, including medication administration, wound care, and other treatments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia or compact multi-state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Associate's degree in nursing or higher.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
