Job Title: Registered Nurse RN Burn Unit

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit team at Research Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a specialized patient population in a supportive and educational setting.

About the Unit:

  • Our Burn Unit is a small, cohesive team that prioritizes quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Opportunities for flexible scheduling and supportive management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
