Burn Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit team at Research Medical Center. As a Burn Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals who have suffered burns and catastrophic injuries.
Our Burn Unit is a 95+ bed facility that offers acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare. We treat adolescents, adults, and senior adults for emotional disorders, mental illness, and substance abuse.
As a Registered Nurse in our Burn Unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a small, cohesive staff who are dedicated to providing quality patient care and outcomes. You will have the chance to care for a specialized patient population in a supportive and educational setting.

Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments.
- Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Registered Nurse Diploma.
