About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Burn Unit, you will play a critical role in the care and treatment of patients with severe burns. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team.

About the Unit

Our Burn Unit is a specialized care area that provides comprehensive treatment for patients with severe burns. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, and we are looking for a nurse who shares our passion for delivering exceptional care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
