Job Title: Professional Learning Facilitator

The Professional Learning Facilitator plays a pivotal role in supporting district leadership by identifying training needs and delivering effective professional development focused on restorative practices. The ideal candidate will be a content specialist in restorative practices, committed to advancing the district's goal of full implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with district leadership to assess training needs and opportunities, particularly in restorative practices and professional development.
  • Serve as a content expert in restorative practices, actively contributing to the district's implementation goals.
  • Create and maintain an annual training calendar, ensuring a well-structured rollout of various training workshops across the district.
  • Organize, develop, and deliver training opportunities for certified teachers and support staff.
  • Provide professional development sessions, both in-person and via virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Develop or oversee the creation of training materials, handouts, aids, and manuals to support learning.
  • Plan and coordinate appropriate venues, timing, and delivery methods for training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to track metrics, outcomes, and identify gaps and needs in training initiatives.
  • Keep attendance logs and other necessary documentation as required.
  • Provide daily oversight and regular supervision to trainers, ensuring that training programs are effectively implemented and aligned with organizational goals. Monitor performance, offer constructive feedback, and facilitate ongoing professional development to enhance the quality of training delivery.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently to successfully complete tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in professional development training; either in teaching or instructing in a classroom setting or facilitating the training, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of restorative practices and their implementation in educational settings is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with virtual training platforms and technology.
  • Ability to analyze data and report on training outcomes and needs.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License is required.
