Job Title: Quality Inspector II

Cadrex is seeking a Quality Inspector II to support site manufacturing practices through the development, evaluation, and improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plate, and height gage to inspect and measure products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate production.
  • Conduct visual inspections of products according to customer requirements.
  • Inspect and test in-process and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Document inspection results by completing required reports and logs.
  • Identify and quarantine non-conforming products.
  • Generate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant products.
  • Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and addressing issues that require repair.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Inspect and release products for shipping by ensuring proper documentation and certifications are provided.
Requirements:
  • Understand industry safety standards and quality expectations.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands-on inspection preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, email software, and the use of the internet.
Education:
  • High school diploma.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred.
Work Environment:

The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
