Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiac Surgery team at UNC Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within your scope of practice, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon.
Responsibilities- Clinical: Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and preventative care, including first assist duties, and actively incorporate evidence-based hospital initiatives to improve patient care.
- Professionalism: Interact with patients and families in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion, and collaborate with coworkers and other team members to ensure successful patient care.
- Quality/Research: Engage in daily continuous quality improvement, consult with management on clinical/system issues, and lead interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated delivery of patient care services.
- Leadership: Provide instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, and students, and participate in community/network outreach programs.
- Education: Appropriately educate clients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up, and collaborate with clinicians and staff to promote continuity and patient-centered care.
- Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider program.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina, with board certification if required by the Department.
- Three years of experience as First Assist in Cardiac Surgery, with prior experience with vein harvesting.
