Laboratory Animal Veterinarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated veterinarian to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a clinical veterinarian, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of laboratory animals used in research and education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide veterinary care and services to laboratory animals, including medical management, surgery, and pain control strategies.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop and implement clinical plans for research animals.
- Participate in the veterinarian on-call rotation, providing 24/7 coverage for laboratory animal care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of animal care and use policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor veterinary students, interns, and residents.
- DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine.
- Board eligibility or certification in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine or related discipline.
- Experience working with a variety of animals, including rodents, rabbits, ferrets, cats, dogs, farm animals, nonhuman primates, reptiles, and fish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, students, and other stakeholders.
