Clinical Veterinarian

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical or Tenure-track Bovine Veterinarian to join our team at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching veterinary students and postgraduate veterinarians, collaborating with faculty in production and clinical medicine, and participating in collaborative or independent applied research with an emphasis on food animal health and production issues of concern to Georgia cattle producers.
Key Responsibilities- Teach veterinary students and postgraduate veterinarians in classrooms, laboratories, and clinical rotations
- Develop and contribute to continuing education for referring veterinarians and outreach programs for producers in the livestock industry
- Participate in collaborative or independent applied research with an emphasis on food animal health and production issues of concern to Georgia cattle producers
- Provide after-hours food animal ambulatory emergency coverage in rotation with three other faculty members
The ideal candidate will have a DVM or equivalent from an accredited college/school of veterinary medicine, board certification or eligibility for board certification in a field related to food animal veterinary medicine, and a strong interest in cattle production. A Masters or PhD in a veterinary medical biosciences related field is preferred, especially those with an emphasis on livestock health and management. The candidate should have knowledge and proven success working with North American beef and/or dairy production systems, interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with producers, veterinarians, and students, and the ability to conduct independent or collaborative applied research.
