Veterinarian - Food Animal Production and Preventive Medicine

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced veterinarian to join our team as a clinical or tenure-track assistant or associate professor in food animal health and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching veterinary students and postgraduate veterinarians, providing food animal clinical services, and contributing to scholarly activity and outreach to livestock producers and veterinarians.
Responsibilities- Teach veterinary students and postgraduate veterinarians in food animal health and management
- Provide food animal clinical services, including routine herd health, reproductive services, and individual animal evaluations
- Contribute to scholarly activity, including research and publication in the field of food animal health and management
- Develop and contribute to continuing education programs for referring veterinarians and extension programs for producers in the livestock industry
- DVM or equivalent from an accredited college/school of veterinary medicine
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification in a field related to food animal production management or preventive medicine
- Minimum 5 years of post-terminal degree experience in industry/academia
- Ability to obtain a veterinary license in the state of Georgia
- Masters or PhD in a veterinary medical biosciences related field
- Board certification in any of the following AVMA recognized specialties: Internal Medicine (Large Animal); ABVP (Food Animal, Beef Cattle, or Dairy); Theriogenology; Toxicology; Nutrition; or Preventive Medicine
- Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following areas: livestock nutrition; forage management; food safety; production economics; theriogenology; large animal internal medicine; epidemiology and preventive health management
