Student Center Operations Manager

Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Center and Event Operations, the Student Center Operations Manager provides strategic leadership and guidance for Student Center and Event Operations, overseeing staff and student personnel.
The incumbent is responsible for serving as a resource for and overseeing the management and supervision of operations in support of the Student Center, including staffing, event management, and summer conference coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs by coordinating with on and off campus partners and clients at all levels to organize and execute events.
- Supervise staff and student personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations.
- Manage and coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
- Collaborate with campus departments and external partners to develop and implement marketing strategies for events and programs.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in overseeing a complex operation involving staffing and multiple functions.
- One to two years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Higher education experience is highly preferred.
- Experience supervising students and working in a Student Center or Student Union is highly preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and Google Suite required.
- Knowledge of 25Live, Humanity, and PeopleSoft preferred.
Benefits
- Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,938 to $6,000 a month.
- This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President.
- This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation, and sick leave.
