Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer (CS) is a critical member of our Echocardiography department, responsible for performing all echocardiograms and maintaining supplies and records. This role requires a high level of skill and expertise in obtaining diagnostic recordings of cardiac ultrasound images, stress echocardiograms, and Doppler hemodynamic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, including 2-Dimensional, M-Mode, and Doppler (PW, CW, Color Flow), Agitated saline study, Contrast, and Pedoff
  • Conduct exercise or pharmacological stress echo
  • Identify pathophysiology and modify exams accordingly
  • Make quantitative and qualitative assessments of echo and Doppler data
  • Order and stock all supplies
  • Operate PACS digital workstation, reviewing studies and generating preliminary reports
Requirements
  • High School graduate required
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Technician program and/or eligible for RDCS credential
  • Three years' full-time experience in an equivalent position preferred
  • Demonstrates skill with scanning and reporting transthoracic, and stress echocardiography
  • Arrhythmia interpretation skills preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Credentialed as RDCS/RDMS, or eligible
