Job Summary

The Student Center Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the management and supervision of operations in support of the Student Center. This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in overseeing a complex operation involving staffing and multiple functions, along with one to two years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Higher education experience is highly preferred, as is experience supervising students and working in a Student Center or Student Union.

Key Responsibilities

The Student Center Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing management and guidance for Student Center and Event Operations
  • Supervising staff and student personnel
  • Developing, implementing, altering, and evaluating programs
  • Coordinating with on and off-campus partners and clients at all levels to organize and execute events
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of 25Live, Humanity, and PeopleSoft preferred
Benefits

This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President. The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,938 to $6,000 a month. This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation, and sick leave.

Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
