As a Senior Environmental Safety Advisor, you will independently design, implement, and manage strategies and programs to ensure adherence to relevant federal, state, and local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) regulations, alongside the organization's EH&S and Workplace Safety (WPS) policies and standards.
Your contributions will enhance the effectiveness of Environmental Health and Safety initiatives through thorough implementation, assessment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You will play a crucial role in promoting employee safety by executing EH&S programs and training initiatives. Your expertise will ensure high-quality service by addressing standard issues and serving as a knowledgeable resource on EH&S and WPS topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster effective relationships by proactively providing resources, information, and expertise to colleagues and stakeholders. Actively seek and respond to performance feedback while mentoring team members. Engage in self-development and adapt to changes and challenges in the workplace.
- Execute work assignments independently by applying current expertise to develop innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with all procedures and policies. Collaborate across departments to address business challenges and communicate progress effectively.
- Ensure compliance by independently developing and overseeing strategies that align with applicable EH&S regulations and organizational policies. Act as a liaison for regulatory inspections and surveys, identifying compliance impacts and opportunities for process enhancements.
- Facilitate training and ongoing education regarding Environmental Health and Safety by seeking development opportunities and integrating feedback into daily operations. Present safety training programs and conduct assessments to ensure training effectiveness.
- Engage in safety practices by educating employees and stakeholders on safety protocols, investigating incidents, and implementing changes to enhance the employee safety program.
- Plan and manage Health and Safety programs by conducting assessments and analyses to evaluate existing programs and making recommendations for improvements based on observations.
- Contribute to risk management by implementing changes that enhance workplace safety and compliance, gathering feedback from stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of these changes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Natural Science, Engineering, Emergency Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in environmental health and safety or risk management, or six years of relevant experience.
- Possession of a Healthcare Environmental Manager Certificate, Industrial Hygienist Certificate, Health Safety Professional Certificate, Safety Professional Certificate, or Associate Safety Professional Certification within a specified timeframe.
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) include expertise in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Compliance Management, Safety and Environmental Health Management, Employee Training, and Emergency Preparedness, among others.
