We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coding Professional to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our Health Information Management department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and high-quality ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for all Inpatient diagnoses and procedural occurrences.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract data into CHRISTUS Health electronic medical record systems, ensuring accurate patient dispositions and physician data.
- Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Specialists to ensure accurate and complete physician documentation.
- Assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to ICD-10-CM/PCS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
- Meet or exceed an accuracy rate of 95% and designated CHRISTUS Health Productivity standards.
- Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Baccalaureate Health Informatics or Health Information Management program or an AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program.
- 3-5 years of Inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred.
This is a full-time position with a 5-day workweek and 8-hour workday. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a remote setting with little supervision.
