Health Information Management Coder Lead

Christus Health is seeking a skilled Coding and Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant coding practices across our healthcare system. You will work closely with our coding team to review and analyze clinical documentation, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to maintain high-quality coding standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular coding audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with coding team members to review and analyze clinical documentation, identify coding errors, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and education to coding team members on coding best practices, regulatory requirements, and system updates.
- Develop and maintain coding guidelines and resources to support coding team members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of coding-related projects and initiatives.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in coding and compliance, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
Experience
- Proven experience in coding and compliance, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.

- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
