About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mathematics Educator to join our team at RFK Community Alliance. As a Mathematics Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a differentiated curriculum, instructing content, and supporting students' ability to access the academic program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee progress on content and skill-based goals, and evaluate and articulate progress collaboratively with the team according to treatment planning and students' Individualized Education Programs.
  • Implement grade-level curricula to meet academic standards based on the Mass. Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Curriculum.
  • Recognize the unique qualities of each student and incorporate them into appropriate lessons and/or projects.
  • Operate a classroom that meets the student's needs for safety, educational growth, and social/emotional development.
  • Evaluate student's specific educational needs in the area of Mathematics and develop educational plans and programs to meet those needs.
  • Produce educational assessments (both formal and informal) in the area of Mathematics for each student.
  • Assist in the development of Individual Education Program goals with the Education Coordinator.
  • Provide classroom instruction necessary to help each student meet any Mathematics goals established in their Individualized Education Program as well as curriculum goals for RFK Community Alliance and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Participate in TEAM and Treatment Team Meetings that involve any of their classroom students.
  • Follow and actively participate in the implementation of the Behavior Management System.
  • Supervise and develop a team atmosphere with colleagues and teaching assistants.
  • Attend and actively participate in Staff meetings and Professional Development Days.
  • Actively participate in teacher team meetings and implement team goals.
  • Act as a positive adult role model with students and a positive team member with all RFK staff and outside collaterals.
  • Assume other responsibilities necessary to ensure program safety and continuity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field; Master's degree and MA certification in Mathematics (5-12) or Moderate Disabilities, (5-15) preferred.
  • Special Education Teacher: Moderate Disabilities, High School, Science background preferred.
Benefits

This position is eligible for the RFK Community Alliance Sign-On Incentive in the amount of $2,500 in your first year of employment. You will receive $500 after 3 months; $500 after 6 months; $1,500 after 12 months.

Pay Range

$70,000 - $80,000 per year
