The Senior Vice President of Engineering plays a pivotal role in our organization, leading the design and advancement of Utilidata's distributed AI platform. This position involves managing a talented team of developers, collaborating with senior leadership, and reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. We are looking for candidates who are collaborative, adaptable, and possess a strong sense of purpose. This role is remote, allowing for teamwork across various locations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor a diverse team of developers to cultivate a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Formulate and oversee release strategies to effectively deliver product features.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering projects with business goals in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Maintain software security standards in conjunction with the IT & Cybersecurity Director.
  • Provide strategic direction for development initiatives and resolve technical issues.
  • Review and enhance technical documentation for clarity and consistency.
  • Attract and retain exceptional talent in partnership with the People Team.
  • Optimize resource distribution for effective project execution.
  • Establish performance metrics and report on team achievements.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience in leading large-scale software development initiatives.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage software development teams.
  • Experience in scaling software solutions within a startup context.
  • Familiarity with IoT and embedded software technologies.
  • Expertise in full stack development and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget.
Compensation: $215,000 - $265,000 based on experience.

Remote Work: This position is fully remote within the United States.
