Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at our Medford, Massachusetts location. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the center manager and management team in achieving production and cost goals while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company-specific rules, regulations, and practices related to quality, safety, and customer service.
- Assist the center manager in identifying and implementing improvements and changes to center processes.
- Participate in the correction and prevention of audit findings.
- Prepare routine reports and keep management apprised of center operations and operational issues.
- Ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Maintain qualifications and perform all required core duties for Medical History, Phlebotomy, Sample Processing, and Operational Management areas.
- Train new and existing staff on donor center procedures.
- Manage and develop talent within the center.
- Participate in the selection of new staff and management within the center.
- Train, coach, and mentor staff.
- Provide timely feedback on performance and initiate disciplinary action when necessary.
- Participate in the evaluation and review of center staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of relevant work experience, preferably in a regulated industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to coach and develop a team of diverse individuals.
- Ability to understand, communicate, and apply technical documents and instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Aptitude for working with production, financial, marketing, and other statistical data.
- Requires obtaining and maintaining Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
Working Conditions
- Requires ability to stand and walk for entire work shift.
- Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, leaning, reaching above shoulders and below knees, and lifting to 50 pounds.
- Must have fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment sounds from a distance.
- Requires ability to communicate verbally with donors, in person and on the phone.
- Requires depth perception and vision at all distances.
- Occasional travel (less than 10%).
