Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist in Texas is mandatory, with a minimum of two years of experience in substance use disorder support, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • Demonstrated commitment to a stable personal recovery and wellness journey
  • Proficient in documenting and reporting support services promptly
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver's license and insurability
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and promote healthy outcomes for individuals with substance use disorders
  • Facilitate connections between formal and informal treatment options to assist individuals in rebuilding their lives within the community
  • Improve the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery through enhanced quality of life and social connections via sustained engagement in recovery support services
  • Utilize personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and serve as a positive role model
Job Functions:
  • Deliver a variety of non-clinical recovery support services related to substance use
  • Ensure accessibility to Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) for individuals diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)
  • Engage with diverse community partners
  • Apply recovery-oriented care principles in all aspects of work
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures
