Join our team at CN Guidance and Counseling Services, a leading provider of mental health and substance use services, as a Family Peer Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with the CN Guidance Youth ACT Team to deliver services to individuals and their families who are diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance (SED) and require specialized support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide education and support to recipients and their families on self-help techniques, self-help group processes, and symptom management skills.
  • Teach effective coping strategies and assist families in developing community connections and natural supports.
  • Help families learn and practice strategies to support their child's positive behavior and implement strategies recommended by clinicians.
  • Facilitate sharing of data with individuals to facilitate partnered decision-making and keep clients informed of progress.
  • Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Parent or caregiver experience with a child who has lived with mental health concerns.
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion and respect for individual strengths, views, and experiences.
