Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Specialist to join our team at CN Guidance and Counseling Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients obtain and maintain competitive employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage clients and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community settings.
  • Assist in completing employment assessments and developing Individualized Work Plans for clients with employment goals.
  • Provide employment services, including job development, job search activities, and transportation to assist clients in achieving their employment goals.
  • Conduct multiple employer contacts each week to learn about businesses and employer needs; maintain contact with other community entities related to employment.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients and staff regarding the IPS model of employment; gather and distribute information and resources regarding employment readiness, job opportunities in the community, and assistance with maintaining employment.
  • Facilitate therapeutic and skill-building groups to help clients progress toward their vocational and treatment goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience working with adults diagnosed with behavioral health and substance use disorders and facilitating groups preferred.
  • Valid NY driver's license with safe driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass the Social Security Administration clearance process which is required to access to government sites used in this position.
